Inspired by the german-speaking region of Belgium where the regional Parliament decided to listen more to and engage with citizens during the legislative process Sven decided to present a draft law proposal copying that citizens dialogue.
The goal is to launch a debate around how citizens could be more implicated in the legislative process and how Parliament could be more open to new and fresh ideas.
The draft law has been presented to Parliament on October 9th, 2019, and been accepted on October 23rd, 2019. It currently awaits discussion in the Committee on Institutions and Constitutional Reform.
