The Chamber is elected by the people. The most important tasks of the Chamber are to make laws and to control the government. The 60 deputies also decide on the budget and what laws should look like. Additionally, the Chamber must authorize military deployments abroad. You can find more information about the work of the Chamber here.
An important condition for democracy is not only that people can elect whom they want, but also that the elected representatives can form their opinions independently. Unfortunately, our Chamber is still somewhat behind when it comes to transparency, but that's why I inform about my contacts with lobbyists and publish the relevant part of my finances.
Deputies in the Chamber belong to parliamentary groups (Parliamentary Group (from 5 members) or Political Sensibility (up to 5 members)). These usually correspond to the parties that ran in the election. Together with Marc Goergen, I am one of two Deputies of the Political Sensibility PIRATES. You can find the composition of the Chamber on the chd.lu website.
I am currently the President of our parliamentary group, which means that in addition to political work, I also take on administrative tasks, such as managing staff and preparing meetings in the Conference of Presidents.
Under the current rules of procedure I also serve as permanent observer on the Conference of Presidents, the Bureau and the Labor Committee.
Parliamentary diplomacy is a crucial part of our work. I have been to many countries to discuss our international relations with our partners. In this context I am an active and contributing member of the following international networks and assemblies.
