During the Covid19-crisis a lot of ordinary citizens came under economic duress as they only received partial salaries or because their businesses suffered due to the government imposed lockdown. Sven’s goal with the draft law proposal 7556 is to defer credit payments under certain conditions until after the crisis without penalties.
The law would allow debtors to sleep better at night, knowing that a sanitary crisis would not ruin their livelihood or put the roof over their heads at risk.
It has been presented to parliament on April 8th, 2020, and accepted on April 17th. The text currently waits for a discussion in the Finance Committee.
