Parliamentary MotionCentral registry for accessible works

April 2, 20200

During the plenary on April 2nd, 2020 Sven presented a motion to Parliament to create a central registry of works that are accessible to people with disabilities.

The motion relates to the new law transposing the EU-directive 2017/1564 regarding access and promotion of accessible works for people with disabilities.

Neither the law nor the directive creates a registry that would enable the concerned to find works easily and without jumping through multiple hoops.

On February 13th, 2020 we had to remind Parliament about the looming deadline of March 18th until which the motion should have been discussed in a committee meeting.

The motion has been sent to the committee for the Economy to be discussed on a technical level.
