Parliamentary MotionPromotion de logiciels libres et ouverts dans les administrations publiques

December 18, 20190

During the plenary on December 18th, 2019 Sven presented a motion to Parliament to promote FLOSS (Free/Libre and Open Source Software) throughout public administrations by inviting the government to:

  • Actively support and promote FLOSS use in public administrations
  • Publish every newly developed and publically funded software under open-source licenses

After a short debate, the motion has been accepted to be discussed in the committee.

On February 13th, 2020 we had to remind Parliament about the looming deadline of March 18th until which the motion should have been discussed in a committee meeting.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis, we currently don’t insist on keeping that deadline but will reiterate our demands once the crisis has passed.
